GSK and Mirixa rewarding pharmacists for trial referrals

28.10.2009

GlaxoSmithKline and Mirixa Australia have partnered in the development of a new program that offers pharmacists a fee for a successful patient referral.

The Clinical Trial Patient Referral Program, scheduled to run through Mirixa Australia network pharmacies, will see pharmacists referring patients who may be candidates for a clinical trial.

A professional service fee will be paid to participating pharmacists upon a successful referral of patients to the study site.

Mirixa Australia chief executive Ross Gallagher said the program differed from the current compliance programs on offer, which were already tapping into the true potential of pharmacists.

"With this new program, the diversity of Mirixa Australia Technology and Programs will be showcased alongside the expanding capabilities of pharmacists," stated Mr Gallagher.

"It`s another opportunity for pharmacists to strengthen relationships with patients and manufacturers through providing a valuable service."

Pharmacies will use the MirixaFind software utility under the program, which centres around notification of patient qualification at the point of dispense, as well as a short series of set questions from the pharmacist to the patient.

For more information or to sign your pharmacy up to the new program, contact Mirixa Australia on 1300 647492 or contact@mirixa.com.au.
